General Meeting Minutes
November 13, 2008 - 7:00 p.m.
Welcome – Members introduction
RRPD: Discussed the community activities in the Enchanted Hills area. Discussed projects that RRPD is undertaking to involve the community. Indicated that the BEAT 5 area is in Enchanted Hills and gave references and pamphlets with contact phone numbers. There is a six month rotation so officers can get to know the area. They will receive e-mails for meeting times in the future in an attempt to attend. Neighborhood watch is neighborhood driven.

Final report on the Fall BBQ and Social – Statement was passed out. Cheryl indicated that there were some business sponsors added to the EHHA website.

Reading and approval of October 9th (last) meeting minutes – Minutes read and approved.
Presentation by Guest Speaker (Alicia Barnes): Archeology student from UNM discussing Native American issues as they interact with archeologists. She provided a list of contacts to call if items with archeological significance are found in the area or on your property and discussed impacts on PDV.
Old Business:
PDV update: PDV information is posted on website. Tom suggested development of a historian regarding PDV. Cheryl gave a brief history regarding PDV and how the current strategy of EHHA is being organized. Discussed EH Blvd and PDV interaction (shutdown of EH Blvd, noise barriers). Brian is attempting to schedule a meeting with C of RR next week. Public hearing will be in January but a date has not been finalized (need location and time). Need comments for Federal Highway Administration. E-Mail Cheryl or Brian with issues and they will let us know more information after the meeting with Scott.
Park ADA access: An attempt was made by the C of RR to provide access but did not call Brian to accept or comment on work.
Enchanted Hills Entrance sign update: Signs will be placed to let people know that a Homeowners Association exists and for advertising.
Website Update: Website is current. We will post family nights and other activities in conjunction with RRPD on the website. Possible changes to how website can be updated. Possibility of development of new company to contract with for website design.
Newsletter Development: No update.
New Business
PDV update: See above.
Husky Drive child safety: Many issues associated with the speed limit in the area. Possible speed bumps and lower speed limits as a solution. Officer Vigil indicated that RRPD enforces the law as much as possible and discussed alternatives and solutions. He indicated that he will drive thru the area and suggested a petition to the city councilor that represents the area to lower the speed limit.
Holiday Decorating Contest: Need a volunteer (Cassandra Dennis) to judge houses. Need to find ways to get name out.
Door prizes were not given out due to a shortage of eligible recipients.
An EHHA member, Pastor Philip Huston indicated that on December 21st there will be a Christmas service at Vista Grande by Mountain View Congregation. He explained that there were various options to give including cash donations to families that the Congregation has “adopted.” Please contact Philip Huston at 505-414-4847 or at phil@mountainview.org if you wish to contribute cash or purchase a gift item for the families.
