Tutors Needed at RRHS:
Rio Rancho High School intends
to resume its tutor/mentoring program in the Fall, 2011 Semester. We would like
to hear from anyone interested in tutoring and mentoring high school students.
This is an opportunity to work directly with teachers in the classroom, or
individually (one-on-one with students) to teach basic skills in a wide range
of subjects, depending on your abilities and interests. These are volunteer
positions, offering a great work environment, and an opportunity to be part of
a research project, focusing on student retention. Our customized training program attempts to meet the needs of
both the volunteer tutors and our high school students. Our intent is to
initiate a community partnership with a number of post-secondary programs from
the University of New Mexico, CNM, OASIS, and Senior Centers from Sandoval
County. Additionally, as we did in the Spring, we intend to pay for background checks, provide materials, supplies,
and on-going training and professional development.
If you are interested, please contact me directly. I am
located in the Humanities Bldg., Room 212. Or call me at 896-5778. Larry Larrichio, Counseling Department, Rio Rancho High School; Email: llarrichio@rrps.net
